In order to address the changes in prescribing pre prepared herbal formulae, under the European Herbal Directive we have structured a post graduate training programme for acupuncturists to address the requirements of the forthcoming Herbal Directive Under the provisions of the EU directive on herbal medicine which Ireland has signed up to, patent or pre prepared herbal remedies can only be prescribed by suitably trained and certified professionals, following a consultation with the patient. Successful completion of the programme will allow Acupuncturists and TCM professionals to prescribe Pre prepared herbs from the approved list to their patients, following consultation.
